 UNDERGROUND SHAFT (CAGE) RADIO

Conspec's Shaft Radio System allows for communication between the hoist operator and occupants of the cage. It also provides communication during shaft inspections. The Standard Shaft Radio System consists of at least three components. The Remote Radio (911063-xxx) is installed at the head-frame such that its antenna is always near the hoist rope. The Remote Audio Head (911056) is installed at the hoist operator location. The Remote Audio Head and the Remote Radio are connected with a two (2)-conductor telephone cable. The Cage Radio (911064-xxx) is installed in the cage with its antenna on top of the cage. The Cage Radio is not equipped with audio equipment. It is a sealed oil-filled unit. A Cage Audio Head (911065) is installed in each level of the cage. The Cage Radio is usually powered with a standard rechargeable 12 VDC battery. The unit will operate for 24 hours on battery power. Standard 120 VAC power operates the Remote Radio and maintains a fully charged 12 VDC battery.

A Personal Radio (91105 1-xxx) can be used for shaft inspections.
