Conspec's P2586 Battery Backup and Recharging Unit is for standalone sensors to continue monitoring when the line voltage has been interrupted. Battery's Low sensor prevents complete discharge of the batteries. AC voltage and Battery Low LEDs show the status of this unit.

When DC power supply is supplying power to the unit, the power output will be drawn from the DC power supply. The "DC POWER SUPPLY ON" LED will be illuminated indicating the output power is supplied by the DC power supply. The battery will also be charged by the DC power supply.

Should DC power supply drops out, the unit will be automatically switchover  to the battery. The LED "DC POWER SUPPLY ON" will be turned OFF.
Should the battery become discharged and its voltage drops below 90% of its fully charged voltage, the "BATTERY LOW" LED will be illuminated. The output relay will drop out to prevent further draining of the battery.

A 0.5 Amp Fuse is installed to protect the circuit in case of a short circuit in the output power.
