Conspec's Accessors are the communication links among all the Senturion field equipment and the central processing unit. Placed directly beside the equipment being controlled or monitored, the Accessor automatically transmits data to and receives data from the central station.
The Accessors are installed in parallel, along the compact four wire Accessor Trunk Cable that provides both power and communication. Utilizing this unique system of data communication and by avoiding the bulky cabling and numerous field stations employed in other monitoring and control systems, Conspec can reduce the installed cost of your system by as much as 66%. Better still, these cost savings are available without sacrificing the distances over which the system can operate or the integrity of the information being transmitted.
Generally the Accessor Trunk Cable is capable of transmitting digital data signals effectively for distances of up to 8,000 feet.
However, beyond this distance, as a result of capacitance in the trunk, the digital signal may become distorted to such a degree that it is no longer acceptable for central station/Accessor communication. When the voltage level for the trunk power is still acceptable but the communication signal has lost the proper shape, a
Trunk Expander may be used to extend the data line
The Expander receives the trunk communication, optically isolates the signal and then reshapes the transmission through its electronic circuitry. The expander is powered from the
Accessor Trunk and thus can be positioned anywhere along the cable. The
Trunk Expander can be installed in an Non-Metallic enclosure (P1728 or
P1729). Where voltage levels for the trunk power are no longer acceptable an
Accessor Trunk Extender (ATE) may be used. However, in most cases, three
Trunk Expanders, covering 32,000 feet of cable, can be used before an ATE is required.
